Mortgage Junior Underwriter
The Junior Underwriter - MTG will support Bell Mortgage operations, underwriting, and collateral risk teams. This role will support a variety of underwriting functions to include clearing conditions, clearing loan purchase pends, analyzing appraisals, evaluating collateral reconsideration requests, conducting analysis on income/credit reviews, general research and providing backup as needed
Primary Duties:
• Analyze and complete underwriting resubmission requests.
• Act as point of contact for underwriting group to support, analyze and respond to pre-purchase investor delivery pends.
• Review and analyze appraisals to meet investor guidelines.
• Conduct income/credit reviews and provide supportive analysis to meet investor guidelines.
• Assist in managing underwriting shared mailboxes and direct questions to the appropriate team member when assistance is needed. Manage response time to 8 business hours or less.
• Research as requested by senior management of underwriting.
• Complete internal checks and fraud vendor reviews on contract underwritten files.
• Back up underwriting assistant when absent. Duties include capacity management, scanning and uploading documentation.
• Work with Bell production staff to explain agency/investor guidelines when discussing or reviewing appraisals, credit submissions and scenario questions.
• Work closely with all departments within organization to help identify and implement efficient and effective procedures to ensure sound lending decisions and high-level customer service.
• Maintain awareness of changing economic and industry conditions, new trends and developments in the local and national real estate mortgage markets

Education, Experience, and Other Expectations
• 1-2 years of mortgage experience required.
• Correspondent lending experience preferred.
• Appraisal underwriting experience preferred.
